Do I need to install anything in my Astro project?
No. ZeroCMS is a Git-based CMS for Astro. The MCP server reads and writes content through your repository. There's no package to add, no config file to maintain, and no code changes required in your Astro site.
Is the MCP server free to use?
Yes. Connecting an MCP client and using it to read or write content doesn't consume any ZeroCMS AI credits — the agent uses its own model, not Zero's. Credits only apply when the agent triggers Zero's own AI-powered tools, like image generation or content quality checks.
How do I connect an MCP client to ZeroCMS?
In your MCP-compatible tool, add https://mcp.zerocms.io as the MCP server address. ZeroCMS will prompt you to authorize the connection — just accept the access request while logged into your Zero account. That's it. The client is ready to read and write your content immediately.
