The Git-based CMS for teams and agents.

ZeroCMS plugs into the Astro repo you already have and gives editors, marketers and AI agents one place to write, preview and publish. No code changes. Not even one.

The product

Everything your content needs. Nothing your repo doesn't.

Edit like a doc. Publish like a dev.

A visual editor for Markdown, MDX, YAML and JSON. Drop your own .astro components in from the slash menu. Every save lands as a clean, reviewable commit.

Forms, straight from your Zod schemas.

Zero reads the schema in your content collections and builds the editing form from it. Enums become dropdowns, dates get pickers, required stays required. Change the schema, the form follows.

See exactly what ships. Line by line.

See a diff of every file that changed before you publish. Zero automatically writes the commit message for you, fully editable, of course.

An agent that works alongside you.

It reads your repo, your schemas and your existing posts before it writes a word. Ask for a second opinion, a translation across twenty files, or a hero image, and let the agent handle it.

Nobody has to learn Git.

Writers and marketers edit in a familiar UI — no pull requests, no branches. Zero handles version control behind the scenes when they hit publish.

Live preview.

A live preview of your site shown next to the editor and updating as you type. The live preview runs your actual Astro dev server and requires no setup.

Every image and video, in one place.

Upload, search and reuse assets across your site. Files land in your repo right where Astro expects them.

Edit together, in real time.

Share your workspace with collaborators and allow multiple people to work on the same files simultaneously. Zero merges changes as they happen.

Catch issues before your changes go live.

SEO, GEO, accessibility, broken links and readability checks run on demand or before you publish. Catch problems before your customers or search engines do.

Bring your own agent.

Prefer Claude, ChatGPT or Codex? Connect it through Zero's remote MCP server and let it read, search, edit, and publish without you ever seeing the UI.

How it works

From repo to editing in about ten minutes.

Connect your site
  1. 01

    Connect GitHub

Point Zero at your Astro repo. It finds your content collections, reads the Zod schemas and builds the editor from them. Nothing to install.

  2. 02

    Invite the team

Email invites, that's it. Nobody needs a GitHub account or a lecture on branches. Bring your own agent too — Claude and ChatGPT connect over MCP.

  3. 03

    Write, check, publish

Draft with the agent or without it. Watch the live preview. Hit publish and a tidy commit shows up in your repo, exactly where a developer would have put it.

For the whole team

Built for everyone who touches content.

Add a CMS without changing a thing.

Before Zero

Adding a CMS meant installing plugins, making code changes, keeping schemas in sync, and letting go of your well functioning Git workflows.

With Zero

Keep using the agentic Git workflow you're already familiar with.

Connect Zero to your repository and give editors a full CMS without teaching them Git. Zero reads your Zod schemas and .astro components directly so there is nothing to install and no config for you to keep in sync.

Your content. Just much faster.

Before Zero

A CMS in one window, ChatGPT in another. One more tool to check for SEO and a manual checklist for internal links and tone-of-voice. Writing that feels error prone and slow — not the 10x productivity boost promised by AI companies.

With Zero

An enjoyable, distraction free editor, and an agent that can do the repetitive work for you. Need a new hero image for your blog post? Just generate one. Automatic content checks make sure you can publish without worrying in minutes, not days.

Content people can actually find.

Before Zero

The brand guide lives in Notion. SEO gets audited after publishing, if ever. Scaling means more writers and more drift.

With Zero

The agent knows your voice and standards before the first word. SEO and AI discoverability are checked as you write. Ship more without adding headcount or cutting corners.

Give feedback without logging in.

Before Zero

You see content after it ships. Reviewing a draft means a screenshot in Slack or an account in a tool built for writers.

With Zero

Get a live preview link, see exactly how the page will look, and fix it from your phone through Claude or ChatGPT. Publish without ever opening a browser if you want to.

Design without a template in the way.

Before Zero

The CMS dictates the layout. You design around its blocks, and every page ends up looking like what the CMS allows.

With Zero

Zero has no templates and no opinion about your site. It edits whatever you built, exactly as you built it.

Three questions and you'll know.

No signup, no repo access. Most teams are done in ten seconds.

Teams that switched to Zero don't go back.

From all of the CMS we've tried for Astro so far, Zero is the best CMS we've found. The live preview and change history are amazing. Nothing needed to be set up in our project.

What is an AI native CMS?

An AI-native CMS has been designed for AI agents from the ground up. In ZeroCMS, the AI can autonomously access your site and content to assist you with all kinds of content workflows from writing to publishing. AI-native CMSs also connect with external tools and services, such as Claude or ChatGPT, so users can use their own agents and models to work with their content.

Is Zero a Git-based CMS?

Yes, ZeroCMS is a Git-based CMS. Your content stays as Markdown, MDX, YAML, and JSON files in your own GitHub repository, and every publish is an ordinary Git commit. What separates Zero from other Git-based CMSes is that it's AI-native and works without any plugins or code changes. It reads your Astro Zod schemas directly, so there's no content model to duplicate, and the built-in agent works across your files the way a developer would.

Does Zero work with any Astro site?

Yes, ZeroCMS works with any Astro v4-v7 site that uses content collections. We have tested Zero with some of the largest sites, including astro.build, the official Astro docs, Starlight, and the Cloudflare docs. If it works for them, it likely works for you!

Do content creators need GitHub accounts?

No, they don't. Additional team members can be invited by email straight from the dashboard.

Are monorepos supported?

Yes, ZeroCMS fully supports monorepos. We only check out your actual Astro directory from within the repo to avoid cloning unrelated files, so the site needs to be self-contained. If you're concerned about security, you can also move the Astro site to its own repository and grant the GitHub app access only to that repository.

Does Zero work with GitLab or Bitbucket?

Not yet. ZeroCMS currently supports GitHub only.

Can I share a link to the live preview?

Yes, you can share a link to the live preview with your team and clients. The preview is available to anyone with the link, without the need to log in.

Your Astro site is about ten minutes from having a very good CMS.

Click around the live demo first, or connect your own repo and see your content in Zero today.

No credit card. No SDK. No code changes. Your repo won't notice.
